The teams at RIOU OCEAN GLASS are currently mobilizing with passion for new projects, notably with the production of solar control double glazing with a soft coating and argon gas assembled in its facilities in Mauritius. Specifically, 2,100 m² of double glazing are being manufactured in our factory in Port Louis to ultimately be packaged and shipped by our local carpentry company to Rwanda.

Thus, in order to meet local climatic specifics, RIOU OCEAN GLASS offers a glazing solution for this project consisting of two panes separated by a cavity filled with gas. Our teams introduce argon, a gas that is heavier than air. This process improves the thermal performance coefficient while also providing better acoustic insulation for the building.
The soft coating, on the other hand, is a very thin layer of metallic materials or metal oxides applied to one of the internal surfaces of the glazing and deposited under vacuum after the glass has been manufactured. It proves to be more effective in solar control and thermal insulation than a coating that would be considered hard.
The design of this type of glazing consequently reduces the transmission of solar heat into the building while allowing natural light to pass through. It thus prevents overheating in the summer while reducing energy consumption related to the use of air conditioning.
